Ingredients
- 4 matzo sheets
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
- 2 apples - peeled, cored and cubed
- 1/2 cup raisins
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or equivalently, 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a moment to prepare your baking vessel by lightly coating it with cooking spray or butter.
3
Then, take the matzo sheets and cut them into manageable pieces. Submerge these pieces in a bowl of water, allowing them to soften and become pliable.
4
After the matzo has absorbed enough water to achieve a soft consistency, drain it in a colander and use your hands or a utensil to gently squeeze out any remaining moisture.
5
In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, salt, sugar, oil, and cinnamon until well combined.
6
Add the softened matzo to this mixture and blend until everything is fully incorporated.
7
Mix in your chopped apples and raisins, taking care to distribute them evenly throughout the batter.
8
Pour this mixture into your prepared baking dish and spread it out to cover the entire surface.
9
Then, place the baking dish in your preheated oven and bake until it is nicely browned on top and the apples are tender, approximately 45 minutes.
