Ingredients
- 8 small Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
- 3/4 cup pumpkin butter
- 1/2 (14 ounce) package pumpkin quick bread mix
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 (7 ounce) can sweetened whipped cream
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius), ensuring it reaches the desired temperature.
2
Next, combine the apples and pumpkin butter in a medium-sized bowl, mixing them together thoroughly until they are evenly blended.
3
Spread the apple-pumpkin butter mixture out in an 8 or 9 inch square baking dish, making sure to cover the entire surface evenly.
4
Then, place the pumpkin bread mix in a separate bowl and use your fingers or a pastry blender to work in the butter until the mixture breaks down into coarse crumbs.
5
Spread these crumbly pumpkin bread mix over the top of the apple-pumpkin butter mixture, covering it completely.
6
After that, bake the dish in a preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the apples are tender enough to be pierced with a fork.
7
Finally, serve the warm apple-pumpkin bread dish alongside a dollop of whipped cream.
