Ingredients
- 1 (3 pound) boneless beef chuck roast
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
- 1 dash soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
- 3 baking potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (the equivalent temperature is 165 degrees Celsius).
2
Position the beef in a suitable oven-safe container, such as a roasting pan or large casserole dish. Fill the dish with approximately half an inch of water, and then stir in a concentrated apple juice solution.
3
Sprinkle soy sauce over the top of the beef, ensuring it is evenly coated. Make several small incisions in the roast and insert pieces of garlic into them; season with a packet of onion soup mix.
4
Cover the beef with aluminum foil or a lid to prevent moisture loss during cooking.
5
Bake the roast in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
6
Remove the beef from the oven and add sliced or chopped carrots and potatoes to the dish. Cover again, and continue cooking for an additional 2 hours, or until the roast is tender enough to be pierced with a fork.
