Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 4 cups cubed day-old bread, or as needed to fill a 9x12-inch baking dish
- 2 apples - peeled, cored, and chopped into 1/2 inch pieces
- 3 cups eggnog
- 4 eggs
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of three seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit or one ninety-zero degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take some butter and generously cover the inside of a 9x12-inch baking dish.
3
Then, place slices of bread into the prepared baking dish, making sure to cover the entire surface.
4
After that, sprinkle apple pieces evenly over the bread slices.
5
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, whisk together eggnog and eggs until well combined.
6
Pour the eggnog-egg mixture over the bread and apple slices in the baking dish.
7
Cover the top of the dish with aluminum foil to prevent overcooking.
8
Bake the mixture in your preheated oven for thirty minutes, then remove the aluminum foil and continue baking until it is nicely browned on top and somewhat set in the middle, adding an additional ten minutes to the cooking time.
