  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup table cream (18%)
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted

Combine the sliced apples with two-thirds of a cup of sugar, along with some ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a large bowl. Distribute the apple mixture evenly into a 9x9-inch baking dish that is at least two inches deep.

In a separate container, whisk together the egg, cream, and melted butter until smooth. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture bowl and stir until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Using a spoon, spread the batter evenly over the apple mixture to ensure that all apples are completely sealed.
