Ingredients
- 6 cups thinly sliced apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 (9 inch) pie shell
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components and preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
2
Place sliced apples in a large container; drizzle with lemon juice. Combine granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small dish; sprinkle the mixture over apples and gently combine until they are evenly coated. Intermix raisins and walnuts; pour the mixture into a pie crust.
3
Combine 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour and brown sugar in a small dish. Use a fork to blend the butter into the mixture until it reaches a crumbly state; sprinkle over apple filling. Cover the top of the pie loosely with aluminum foil.
4
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly, approximately 25 to 30 minutes more. Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack before serving.
