Apple Cranberry Crumble Pie
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups Quaker® Oats (Quick or Old Fashioned, uncooked)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 10 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 3/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F, ensuring it reaches this temperature. Lightly mist an 8- or 9-inch glass pie plate with a non-stick cooking spray, taking care not to overdo it.
2
In a medium-sized bowl, blend together the oats, flour, brown sugar and baking soda. Introduce melted butter into the mixture and blend until everything is well combined.
3
Set aside 3/4 cup of the oat mixture for a topping, reserving it for later use.
4
Press the remaining oat mixture firmly onto the bottom and sides of the pie plate, making sure it adheres evenly.
5
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden brown, taking care not to overcook it.
6
Transfer the pie to a wire rack and let it cool slightly, allowing excess heat to escape.
7
Using the same bowl, combine the pie filling, cranberries, lemon juice and cinnamon in a single motion.
8
Spoon the filling over the hot crust, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface.
9
Sprinkle the reserved oat topping evenly over the filling, creating a uniform layer.
10
Bake for an additional 18 to 22 minutes or until the topping is golden brown, achieving the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
11
Serve the pie warm or at room temperature.
