Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups diced Granny Smith apple
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a generous amount of butter and grease an 8-inch square baking dish thoroughly. Then, sprinkle a substantial quantity of flour over the greased surface to create a solid layer.
3
In order to prepare the cake, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
4
Subsequently, use an electric mixer to blend brown sugar and butter until they have become light, fluffy, and noticeably lighter in color.
5
Combine egg into the mixture, followed by the incorporation of sour cream, yogurt, and vanilla until everything is well combined.
6
Gradually add the flour mixture to the large bowl, then fold in apples until they are fully incorporated.
7
In order to prepare the topping, combine brown sugar, flour, butter, and cinnamon in a bowl using a fork until you achieve a crumbly texture.
8
Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish, followed by the sprinkling of the topping over the batter.
9
Bake in your preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10
Finally, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
