Ingredients
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 1 cup apple butter
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked deep dish pie crust
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
In a large mixing container, merge pumpkin, apple butter, one quarter cup of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Combine eggs and evaporated milk into the mixture using a spoon or whisk. Pour the resulting blend into your pre-baked pie crust.
3
Bake the pie in a preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until you notice that a knife inserted two inches from the pie's center comes out spotless. Top the pie with streusel topping and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
4
To prepare the streusel topping, combine butter, flour, and one third cup of brown sugar in a small bowl. Mix the ingredients until they resemble coarse crumbs. Introduce pecans into the mixture, stirring well.
