Anise Pizzelles
Ingredients
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup margarine, melted and cooled
  • 2 tablespoons anise extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions
1
Combine eggs, sugar, and melted margarine in a bowl using an electric mixer until the mixture becomes light and airy. Introduce the flavor of anise extract into the mixture by stirring it in gently. In a separate bowl, blend flour and baking powder together until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring continuously until a sticky dough forms.

Heat your pizzelle iron according to its manufacturer's guidelines. Place spoonfuls of the batter onto the iron, spreading them evenly to cover the entire surface. Close the iron and cook for approximately 90 seconds, or until no more steam escapes from the iron. Remove the cooked pizzelle carefully and let them cool down before storing them in an airtight container at room temperature.
