Simple Amish Buttered Egg Noodles
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles
Instructions
1
Heat a small saucepan over medium heat, allowing the butter to melt and simmer. Continue cooking until the butter develops a rich brown color, emits a pleasant aroma, and forms a creamy foam with golden residue on the bottom of the pan. This process typically takes 5 to 10 minutes.
2
Next, add chicken broth and bouillon cubes to the saucepan with the melted butter. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Then, stir in the egg noodles and continue cooking until they reach a second boiling point. After that, cover the pot with a lid and switch off the heat source. However, keep the saucepan on the same burner to maintain its warmth.
3
Allow the mixture to rest undisturbed for 30 minutes, stirring it occasionally, usually every 2 or 3 intervals.
