Alysia's Classic Meat Lasagna
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (28 ounce) jar sausage flavored spaghetti sauce
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit (or, if you prefer metric measurements, 190 degrees Celsius).
2
Create the sauce by heating oil in a large cooking vessel over a medium-high heat setting. Add sliced onion and minced garlic; cook and stir constantly until they become translucent, approximately 5 minutes. Add ground beef and a pinch of garlic powder; cook and stir until the mixture is browned and crumbly, taking around 5 to 7 minutes. Drain off any excess grease that accumulates during this process.
3
Prepare the lasagna by combining shredded mozzarella and sliced provolone cheese in a medium-sized bowl. In another bowl, blend together crumbled ricotta, milk, eggs, and a sprinkle of dried oregano.
4
Begin building your lasagna by pouring just the right amount of sauce into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer this with three cooked lasagna noodles, followed by an additional layer of sauce, the ricotta mixture, and a blend of mozzarella and provolone cheese. Repeat this process one more time using all the remaining cheese mixture.
5
Add a final layer of three cooked lasagna noodles, followed by the remaining sauce and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover your dish with a lid.
6
Place the covered lasagna in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and continue to bake until the cheese is melted and the top is golden, taking around 15 minutes longer.
