Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup ground almonds
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 2/3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds
Instructions
1
Heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (the equivalent temperature in Celsius is 175).
2
Prepare the cake pan: Coat a 10-inch Bundt mold with non-stick cooking spray and dust it lightly.
3
Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, ground almonds, baking powder, and salt.
4
Prepare the cake batter: In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter and sugar until they reach a light and fluffy consistency. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and almond extract.
5
Mix the cake batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk and mixing just until combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
6
Bake the cake: Place the cake in a preheated oven and bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
7
Cool the cake: Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack and allow it to cool for an additional 10 minutes.
8
Make the glaze: In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, sugar, almond extract, and ground almonds.
9
Glaze the cake: Place the wire rack and cake on a sheet of waxed paper. Pour the warm glaze over the cake.
