Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package whole white button mushrooms
- 2 scallions
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 pinch salt
- cooking spray
Instructions
1
Carefully wipe mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or debris. Discard the stems and proceed with the recipe.
2
Chop scallions into small pieces, separating them into white and green parts for added flavor.
3
Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees F (182 degrees C), a temperature that will help bring out the best in your dish.
4
Combine softened cream cheese, shredded Cheddar cheese, minced scallion whites, paprika, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Mix until well combined.
5
Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each mushroom cap, pressing it gently with the back of a small spoon to fill the cavity.
6
Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the stuffed mushrooms in a single layer, leaving some space between each one to allow for even cooking. If necessary, work in batches to prevent overcrowding.
7
Cook the stuffed mushrooms in the air fryer for 8 minutes, or until the filling is lightly browned and fragrant.
8
Transfer the cooked mushrooms to a serving plate, garnished with chopped scallion greens for added visual appeal.
9
Allow the mushrooms to cool for 5 minutes before serving, at which point they will be ready to be devoured.
