Air Fryer Crispy Plantain Chips
Ingredients
  • 1 green plantain
  • avocado oil spray
  • 1 pinch salt

Preheat the air fryer to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Cut both ends of the plantain and make shallow cuts along its length, being careful not to cut all the way through the skin. Remove the skin and then cut the plantain in half lengthwise.

Use a vegetable peeler to peel the plantain into long, thin strips.

Spray the air fryer basket with a neutral-tasting oil, such as avocado oil. Arrange the plantain strips in the basket in a single layer, leaving some space between each piece to allow for even cooking. Spray the tops of the plantain strips with a small amount of oil.

Place the plantain strips in the preheated air fryer and cook for 7 to 9 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of crispiness. Use a pair of tongs to carefully turn each strip over and continue cooking for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Remove the plantain strips from the air fryer and sprinkle with salt immediately.
