Ingredients
- 1 (13.8 ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough (such as Pillsbury®)
- 9 teaspoons pizza sauce
- 1 (1.75 ounce) package pepperoni (such as Hormel®)
- 4 1/2 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese
- avocado oil cooking spray
Instructions
1
Spread the pizza dough out on a surface lightly dusted with flour to create an even base. Use a 2 1/8-inch round cutter to cut out nine identical circular pieces from the dough. Shape each circle into a 4 1/2-inch round shape. Place one teaspoon of pizza sauce, three slices of pepperoni, and half a tablespoon of mozzarella cheese in the center of each round shape. Fold over the dough to enclose and secure the edges by folding them inwards, then press the edges together with a fork to seal.
2
Heat an air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line the interior of the air fryer with parchment paper and lightly spray it with avocado oil to prevent sticking. Place a batch of the prepared calzones into the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping. Lightly spray the calzones with avocado oil to help them cook evenly.
3
Cook the calzones in the air fryer for 6 to 8 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Flip them over and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until they are golden brown on the other side. Repeat with the remaining calzones to ensure all of them are cooked to perfection
