Ingredients
- 1 pound shell-on deveined jumbo shrimp
- nonstick cooking spray
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
- 1 teaspoon reduced-sodium seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
- 2 wedges lemon, for serving
Instructions
1
Preheat the air fryer to a high temperature of 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Rapidly wash the shrimp under cold running water to eliminate any ice or sediment. Gently pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer at the bottom of the air fryer basket and lightly spray with cooking oil. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook the shrimp in batches.
3
Cook the shrimp in the air fryer for an initial 5 minutes. Flip them over and continue cooking until they turn a vibrant pink on the outside and the meat is opaque, requiring an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
4
Simultaneously, place a small amount of butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the butter at 50 percent power until it's fully melted, taking about 30 to 60 seconds. Mix in some hot sauce and Old Bay seasoning.
5
Add the cooked shrimp to a large bowl and drizzle with the warm butter mixture. Toss everything together gently to coat the shrimp evenly. Serve the shrimp immediately, accompanied by lemon wedges.
