Air Fryer French Fries
Ingredients
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 medium russet potato
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat the air fryer oven to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
2
To prevent food from sticking, lightly mist the basket with a non-stick cooking spray.
3
Cut potatoes in half lengthwise and then slice them into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
4
Separate the potato sticks and place them in a large bowl, then rinse under cold running water to remove any impurities.
5
Use your hands or a colander to drain the excess water, and gently pat the fries dry with paper towels.
6
Transfer the dried potato sticks to a separate bowl.
7
Add a small amount of oil and mix until the fries are evenly coated.
8
Sprinkle salt to taste, followed by a few grinds of black pepper; mix well to distribute the seasonings.
9
If necessary, work in batches to prevent overcrowding when placing the fries into the prepared air fryer basket.
10
Arrange the fries in a single layer, making sure not to overlap them.
11
Cook the fries in the preheated air fryer oven for 7 minutes.
12
Flip them over and continue cooking until they are golden brown and crispy, adding an additional 7 to 9 minutes.
13
Remove the fries from the air fryer and sprinkle with a pinch of additional salt to taste.
