Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 1/2 (16 ounce) jars spicy dill pickle spears
- cooking spray
Instructions
1
Combine flour and paprika in a bowl to create a dry mixture. Whisk milk and beaten egg together in another bowl, blending them until smooth. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third container.
2
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to heat an air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
3
Dredge one pickle spear in the flour-paprika mixture, gently shaking off any excess. Dip it into the egg-milk mixture to coat, taking care not to let excess egg drip back into the bowl. Press it firmly into the panko breadcrumbs to coat thoroughly. Place the breaded pickle, unstacked, onto a plate. Repeat this process to coat the remaining pickles.
4
Spray the breaded pickles lightly with cooking spray, then place them into the air fryer basket in a single layer. If necessary, work in batches to avoid overcrowding the fryer.
5
Cook the pickles in the preheated air fryer until the panko is golden brown, taking about 14 minutes.
