Air Fryer Crispy Orange Chicken
Ingredients
  • cooking spray
  • 1 1/4 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot powder
  • 1 medium orange, zested and juiced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
1
Preheat your 5.3-quart air fryer to the temperature specified by the manufacturer, which is 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Make sure to follow any specific guidelines provided by the manufacturer for optimal performance.
2
Next, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent food from sticking and make cleanup easier. This will also help create a non-stick surface for cooking your chicken.
3
In a separate mixing bowl, place 1 1/2 teaspoons of the arrowroot powder and set it aside for later use.
4
Now, sprinkle the remaining arrowroot powder evenly over your chicken and mix until it's fully coated. Lightly spray the chicken with cooking spray to help it cook evenly and prevent sticking.
5
Place the coated chicken in a single layer in the prepared air fryer basket.
6
Air-fry your chicken for 6 to 8 minutes, or until it reaches the desired level of doneness.
7
After 6 to 8 minutes, stir the chicken gently and continue air-frying for an additional 4 minutes.
8
While your chicken is cooking, combine orange zest, orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, sesame oil, ginger, fish sauce, and Sriracha in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
9
In a separate bowl, whisk together the reserved arrowroot powder and water until there are no lumps.
10
Slowly pour the arrowroot mixture into the saucepan, stirring rapidly to avoid lumps and ensure a smooth consistency. Continue cooking the mixture over medium heat until it thickens.
11
Remove your chicken from the air fryer and combine it with the sauce.
