Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 (8 ounce) bone-in, skin-on chicken breast halves
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
Instructions
1
Combine paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, marjoram, sage, pepper, and nutmeg in a small bowl to create the spice blend. Apply this mixture evenly to all sides of chicken breasts, making sure to coat them thoroughly, including the underside of the skin.
2
Next, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), adhering strictly to the manufacturer's guidelines for optimal performance. In a separate small bowl, whisk together coconut oil, sherry, and lime juice until well combined; set this mixture aside for later use.
3
Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, with the breast side facing downwards. Cook for 15 minutes, following the manufacturer's instructions to ensure even cooking.
4
After 15 minutes of cooking, brush your chicken breasts with the reserved basting oil. Flip them over and reduce the heat to 360 degrees F (182 degrees C). Continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes.
5
Next, baste the chicken breasts again with the remaining oil and continue cooking until they reach a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). To verify this, insert an instant-read thermometer into the thickest part of the breast near the bone. The chicken is done when it reaches this temperature and the juices run clear, indicating that it has reached a fully cooked state.
