Adobo Lime Marinated Steak Tacos
Ingredients
  • 1 pound flat iron steak, or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons adobo seasoning
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges, divided
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (8 ounce) package small soft tortillas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 1 (7 ounce) can salsa verde
Instructions
1
Apply a generous amount of adobo seasoning to the steak, coating it evenly on all sides. Next, express half of a lime's juice onto the steak before sprinkling minced garlic liberally over its surface. Position the steak on a serving plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
2
Heat a suitable amount of oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Introduce the steak into the pan and sear until a golden crust forms, approximately 5 minutes. Rotate the steak and continue cooking until it achieves an equally appealing crust on the other side, around 5 minutes more.
3
Transfer the steak to a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cook until the steak reaches your desired level of tenderness, roughly 30 minutes. Permit the steak to rest and cool for about 15 minutes before slicing it against its natural grain.
4
Place a stack of tortillas on a serving plate and cover them with a damp paper towel. Subject the tortillas to microwave heat until they become pliable and warm, approximately 1 minute.
5
Arrange a portion of the sliced steak on each tortilla, followed by a sprinkle of sautéed onion and chopped cilantro. Squeeze the remaining lime juice over the top, adding a dollop of salsa verde to complete the assembly. Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas, steak, onion, and cilantro to create a satisfying meal.
