SERVINGS

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 head white cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 head red cabbage, shredded
- 2 large carrots, peeled and cut into thin strips
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into very thin strips
- 1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 dash hot sauce, or to taste
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, or to taste
- 1 lime wedge
Instructions
1
Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium heat, using canola oil to coat the surface. Introduce garlic and ginger into the pan; cook and stir until they release their aroma, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Next, add ground beef and cook, stirring constantly, until it reaches a browned and crumbly state, taking around 5 to 7 minutes.
2
Move the ground beef to one side of the skillet and introduce a variety of vegetables - white cabbage, red cabbage, carrots, and red bell pepper - into the empty side. Combine the vegetables with the beef, stirring occasionally, until they reach a tender yet still crisp state, usually taking 5 to 6 minutes.
3
Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and hot sauce to the beef-vegetable mixture; stir until they are fully incorporated. Season with salt and pepper according to your preference. Serve the dish with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, accompanied by a lime wedge and additional hot sauce if desired.
